This rate includes fuel and oil for the aircraft. Don’t be fooled by other schools offering a very low rate, but then making you pay for fuel also. At this time there is no fuel surcharge for the aircraft but may be added with fluctuating fuel prices. The current fuel price at KFXE is listed here under BANYAN FBO.

PAY AS YOU FLY
There are no upfront costs payable to the school. After each lesson, you pay for the aircraft rental and instructors time. Beware of schools asking for big amounts of money upfront, many times these schools collect as much money as possible and overcharge you or go out of business keeping your money. We don’t plan on going out of business anytime soon.

All of our aircraft have a current annual and 100-hour inspection as required for commercial aircraft. These records are always available for your review.
Flight Instruction is available at $45 per hour for single engine and $55 per hour for multi engine as well as ground instruction.
In order to legally pilot an aircraft without an instructor, you must meet minimum medical standards as determined by a FAA “Designated Medical Examiner”, if you have any concerns about your medical condition it is best to get a “Medical Certificate” before starting training. A medical certificate is NOT required prior to starting training; however, you cannot fly the airplane “solo” without one. Many “exemptions” have been given over the years, and believe it or not there are people out there flying with one eye, one leg, one arm and so on. There is also a sport pilot license that does not require a medical certificate, you can train and log the hours with us in our aircraft towards a sport pilot rating, however, the flight examination must be done in a light sport aircraft, which are very similar to the smaller aircraft in our fleet. All renters must be fully checked out and found to be competent (if intending to fly without an instructor) by one of our flight instructors to meet insurance requirements. The instructor rate is $45.00 per hour for single engine and $55 per hour for multi engine and is not included in the aircraft rental rate. Pilots who are current and proficient should not require much more that an hour checkout.
TSA (Transportation Security Administration) approval is required for all students who are not US citizens. We are a TSA approved provider school and can get you TSA approval. We CANNOT issue VISAS however.
